Founded in 2004, Maui Song & Dance, LLC is the collaborative creation between artistic director Kimberley Day and producer and business manager Max Reid.
Originally from Los Angeles, Kimberley started her dance career in musical theater, touring with the Diablo Civic Light Opera Company and the Topanga Players Opera Company.
In Los Angeles she worked as a talent scout and judge for CBS’s Star Search, toured with the musical revue Hollywood Girl, and performed in numerous commercials, television soaps, and convention shows. Successfully choreographing a Los Angeles production of Tommy led to many other opportunities, including choreographing the Mel Brooks television pilot, Dawn of the Dead.
Since moving to Maui, Kimberley’s projects have included choreographing for the Day Dance Company, performing in convention shows for corporate entertainment, and teaching jazz dance at the Maui Academy of Performing Arts and at the Omori Studios at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
Producer and business manager Max Reid moved to Maui after a successful career as a research scientist and research manager at NASA's Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. His extensive NASA experience creating and managing teams of creative people has carried over very well to the management of the talented performers and multi-faceted business of Maui Song & Dance. In addition to a PhD in Physics from Stanford University, Max has an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Maui Song & Dance recently made a company debut with a "dazzling" performance at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center's Castle Theater. Performing to a full house and rave reviews, we have become known as "accomplished" and "terrific" entertainment.
